Rodney Allen has 35 years in advising international families and organizations. He advises on the complex international business, estate, tax and philanthropic issues they face. His current clients include international families, their service providers and multi-national philanthropic organizations. His philanthropic experience has included supervising the administration of a multi-billion dollar charitable trust structure established to investment endowment funds; managing a Swiss foundation supporting children’s medical assistance in the developing world; reporting on environmental and human rights issues in a park—development project in Africa; and advising on the legal structuring of an educational foundation supporting students in distressed economic areas.

Rodney’s experience began with a 9-year career at Arthur Andersen, where he specialized in cross-border tax issues for international companies and individuals. Next, Mr. Allen spent 10 years at Citibank, where amongst other assignments, was responsible for its International Wealth Structuring business and its EMEA Discretionary Asset Management sales department. He also served as General Manager of Citibank (Switzerland). After a short assignment as head of Credit Suisse’s Guernsey fund administration business, Rodney was appointed head of Barclays global trust business. In 2010, he took a 1-year leave of absence to return to university for an advanced law degree in Environmental Law, focusing on international environmental, human rights and other social-responsibility issues.

Rodney is a member of the Texas Bar and has passed the California CPA exam. He was awarded a JD from the University of Richmond in 1985 and an LLM from Oregon University in 2011. His undergraduate degree in English was awarded by James Madison University in 1979.

Rodney currently resides in Switzerland, where he has lived and worked for the past 20 years. He has also lived and worked in the United States and in The Netherlands.
